Canton, OH (Home)

Note to self... always save blog as a word document before trying to post on myspace.
After typing up an historic and moving account of the days events, I foolishly lost it all due to an unknown error.  :?(  But here is my best second effort.

We arrived in Omaha, NE early this morning after driving through the night from Sioux Falls. (pics is SF)

Omaha was a tiring place at a tiring time (3 am) but I found my way to my gate and sat there chuckling to myself deliriously about how I had no idea what I was going to do to get home from Cleveland today and no energy to worry about the issue.  While I was waiting in line to board I saw a fellow walk up to the gate with a guitar on his back.  I immediately turned off my iPod, left my place in line and introduced myself to Andrew Osenga, who is one of my favorite artists, a friend of Jars and just about every other band/singer-songwriter I like.  If you don't have them all already you should go here, and buy every album on the page.  Andy needs good people like us to buy his honest, geniune, and real music, so he doesn't have to write simplistic CCM radio hits to feed his wife and children.  You should totally support him because he is a cool guy.  I know because we talked about 'The Departed' today and he thought it was good and so do I.  We ended up sitting together on the plane and talking about everything from songwriting to Battlestar Galactica with a healthy dose of Arrested Development in the middle.  I got to listen to a couple songs of the new Caedmon's Call record which were great and we talked a little bit about Blood:Water Mission and the Caedmon's work with the Dalit Freedom Network, which deals with issues of social justice related to the caste system in India.
When deplaned in Chicago, I headed off to my gate, got there just before boarding, got on the plane and slept till Cleveland.  By that time exhaustion had taken over and I didn't have the energy to figure out public transportation to Canton, so I rented a Dodge Nitro and drove on home.
Here I am for break.

This week I hope to get some reading done.  I am working on a book about the colonization of Africa called 'King Leopold's Ghost', that Charlie recommended to me.  Lately is has been easier to watch The Office on my iPod, but this week I hope to get to it, because so far it is an amazing book.  Thanks for checking in.
