Passion '07 Awakens Massive Response
At this year's Passion '07 Conference held in Atlanta Georgia, around a thousand participants met and exceeded the challenge to "Do Something Now" by committing to bring clean water to villages in Africa both as individuals and as groups.
By learning about the water crisis in Africa and realizing that as little as $3000 on average can provide clean water for a village for life, numerous individuals financially gave towards building a well for a village in Africa and futhermore committed to the 2 Week Challenge of choosing to make water their only drink for 2 weeks and then to donate all of the money they would have spent on other beverages to the 1000 Wells Project. The goal for individual committments was set at 300 participants, but nearly a thousand signed up!
The second goal was to find 10 groups to commit themselves to adopt an entire well themselves, however, by the end of the conference 52 groups had chosen to sponsor a well! The response shown at Passion '07 was overwhelming, and the thousands who participated are going to make a difference in the lives of thousands more.
