Today is World Water Day
Water. Safe water.
If you've been following our 40 Days of Water illustrated facts, you've learned many interesting, thought-provoking, and heart breaking statistics about water. To us, there are people behind these statistics--communities in Africa that have experienced what it means to no longer worry about preventable diseases like diarrhea. Children who no longer have to sacrifice their education to walk for water. Yet, there are many communities we work along side that are still waiting for clean water access and hygiene and sanitation training to bring about a change in their lives.
Today, on International World Water Day, we think about them. We walk for them. We work along side them to bring clean water to their communities, and we invite you to join us. If you haven't joined us for 40 Days of Water, its not too late:
- There are 2 Weeks left in the 40 Days of Water. Consider taking on (or recommitting to) the challenge for the last two weeks. Make tap water your only beverage and save the money you would have spent on other drinks. Start your own 2 Weeks of Sacrifice today.
- You can walk- host a water walk in your community. See our Water Walk video to inspire your creativity.
- You can give. $1 provides clean water to an African for a year. $12 allows a child to go to school rather than collect water. $25 provides clean water to an African for 25 years. You can donate here and help us fulfill our commitments to our neighbors in Africa.
