Anticipation

CameraBag_Photo_1000.jpgIt is funny how turning the page to a new year signifies new things. It is really nothing more than the next day, the next week, and the next month. Yet it means that we get to put that old calendar away, bring out the new one, and start to plan (and anticipate) all that is to come.

I have been thinking about this a lot this week as Barak and I have a new 12 month calendar on our blackboard. Last year's travel is done, the reports are rolling in, and the budget complete. Now we are looking ahead and thinking of what will work best for our work and travel schedules. Somehow it will all get done. Right now we have a few things written on the board in chalk (it is easy to modify), and lots more bouncing around in our heads. And what I keep thinking about is this: it will be good.

It will be good because there are so many dear friends to visit in Africa. I honestly cannot wait to see each one - to see and hear in person how the work is coming in communities. To learn new stories of transformation. To participate and help with water and AIDS trainings. I have an awesome job and am so thankful that I get to do this work on behalf of the Blood:Water community. It is a new year, and there is much goodness to anticipate. Keep coming back here - we will be telling about it all as it happens.
