Bringing Africa to America
But, bringing people to America is never as simple as just buying an airplane ticket. The last two hours of my work day here in Rwanda were spent walking the Executive Director of our local partner through the US visa application process. This is not something that I ever thought I would be doing as a part of my job, and I doubt it is something that he thought he would be a part of his. When were on what seemed like the thousandth question, I was asked, "How long is the visa application for you to come to Rwanda?" I replied, "About ten questions that I answer at the airport." I wish it was that easy for him to come to America.
The coming weeks are an important time - that is when we will find out if each of the partners invited has been given a visa to America. We are not guaranteed that these visas will be granted, but we are filled with hope. We hope that they will be granted so that we can all celebrate together in May. I also hope that you will be joining us for this special celebration thus making the circle complete. Click the image below for more details or visit: www.bloodwatermission.com/welldone
