Voluntary Counseling & Testing Programs
Blood:Water's position as an organization connected directly to local grassroots partners allows us to develop programs to meet needs in ways often overlooked. Where so many large agencies focus on treatment and small organizations focus on prevention education, few bring together strong integration of the two. Blood:Water works with each community partner to develop capacity to implement quality programs that meet the needs of each individual community where they are working.
Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) allows individuals to determine their status
and take appropriate action through counseling and support. VCT programs are simple
enough to be implemented by many small civil society organizations (CSOs) and can
reach communities where access to testing would be otherwise limited.
