A Father's Day Message from Dan Haseltine

"FATHERS"

Fathers in Africa want the best for their children.
They want health for their children.
They want a bright future for their children.
They want the opportunity for their children to be educated.
They want their children to grow up and become contributing members of society. They want their children to know they are of priceless value.
They want their children to know that they are loved.
Fathers in Africa want for their children more than they themselves have had.
Fathers pray that the sickness will not overtake the child.
Fathers in Africa pray that their children would have reasons to smile.
They want to hear the robust laughter of their children most of the hours of the day.
Fathers want to be heroes in the eye of their sons.
Fathers want to be problem solvers in the minds of their children.
Fathers want to dig into the earth and bring forth water.
Fathers want to guide their sons and daughters to the places where disease is fought and destroyed.
Fathers want to win wars for their children.
Fathers in Africa want the best for their children.
The dreams of fathers in Africa are the dreams of fathers in America.

There is an HIV/AIDS pandemic in the world. There is a water crisis effecting millions of people in our world. Mostly, there is a father losing hope. There is a man cut at the core because what he wants for his children, he cannot alone affect. The story of a single father fighting to give his own children clean water and health and hope is so much more accurate a description of what is happening in the world. This is truer because it could be you or me. It could be my own heart burdened with the weight of watching my child writhing in pain from worms. It could be me wondering if my infant would make it through another bout of diarrhea. It could be me sending my children out to collect water wondering if they will return from the journey, and wishing that they could have the education I never had. The story of fathers wanting good things for their children is the Fathers story. I can walk in those shoes. I can see what he sees. And it is why Blood:Water Mission exists. To know is to love. To love is to act.

~ Dan Haseltine

Come alongside the fathers who are and who long to be heroes in their own communities in Africa. Will you join us on a monthly basis at $30/month as a Blood:Water Mission Community:Builder so that together we can bring sustainable health solutions to our neighbors in Africa?  Consider doing so in your own father's name. Let him know that dads in Africa are able to bring health and hope to their families through a gift in his name. Be a part of a bigger story this Father's Day.

*For a limited time when you sign-up to be a Community:Builder you will receive an autographed album from amazing artist partner, Mat Kearney, and a signature Blood:Water mug. You can even give these gifts to dad, or keep them for yourself (we won't tell).
