This year, I had my 52nd birthday.
I'm not the least bit bothered by birthdays. I'm happy to tell anyone who asks, how many years I've got under my belt. I'm proud of my 20 years as a parent; proud and happy to have managed years of soccer, girl scouts, loose teeth and ear aches; proud of the wonderful people my two girls have become.
What bothers me now is not birthdays, but the time in between. What do I do now that my parenting days are over? Where do I put the energy, passion and the love that used to be spent reading bedtime stories, drying tears, and helping with homework?......
