A letter from Dan Haseltine
2012 has been a year to remember. Blood:Water Mission projects served 50,000 people through 100 water, sanitation and hygiene projects in Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda and Uganda. The Tumaini Clinic in Kenya and the New Life Medical Center in Uganda both expanded their services this year - testing 4,000 people, enrolling 230 HIV clients, and treating 15,000 patients this year. Water projects have expanded to currently producing 4,000,000 gallons of water every day! That's enough to fill a football field nine feet deep!
It cannot be said enough, as I reflect on the good work done this year, that my heart is overflowing with gratitude toward everyone who has chosen to support Blood:Water Mission this year. Whether you gave a dollar at a concert, or used your voice to share the story of the great things happening in Africa, or perhaps, you joined our Community:Builders program, your investment into Blood:Water Mission has been the necessary plot twist that has saved lives.

I am amazed every time I see images of a water well, catchment tank, or bio-sand filter in a community being implemented. And with every report that describes the thousands of HIV positive people served by the medical clinics that are effectively running in Kenya and Rwanda I am more aware that every voice and every dollar counts. Every act that rises above the clatter of our trivia and shows that you have made a choice to enter in to the stories of others who desperately want to be heroes in their own communities, is a spark the sets my heart aflame. We could not do the work without you.
We can't imagine where the story would be if you had not joined in the conversation. Please don't stop now. So many good stories are yet to be developed...we wouldn't want any of them to be told without your act written between the lines. Please consider a gift today.
With profound gratitude,
Dan Haseltine - Blood:Water Mission Founder and Lead Singer of Jars of Clay
