Lemon:Aid Restaurant Week
This summer, consider taking Lemon:Aid to the next level and organize a Restaurant Week in your city. Last year, successful restaurant week's popped up all around the country. For a week, restaurants and other local businesses in cities like Nashville and Los Angeles gave proceeds from specific menu items or products and donated the proceeds to Blood:Water Mission. Hosting a restaurant week is a great way to connect your community with a community in Africa.
It is easy to get your community and local businesses involved in Lemon:Aid. Check out the video above featuring Lulu, the "Lemon:Aid Warrior." Lulu explains how she went about approaching restaurants and asked them to be a part of her restaurant week in Los Angeles. You can also check out Lulu's website here. For more tips on how to start a Restaurant Week, check out this LemonAid Week Tip Sheet.pdf for practical steps on how to get started!

We have received a number of requests from individuals asking how to explain the Lemon:Aid campaign to restaurants and other businesses. You can provide this description below as a starting point for the conversation:
Lemon:Aid is an annual summer campaign for Blood:Water Mission built around the iconic lemonade stand. The goal of the campaign is to get kids and families directly involved in raising support and awareness for the water crisis in Africa. With the equation that $1 can provide clean water to someone in Africa for an entire year, your efforts in your community can directly impact communities in Africa. Families, school and church groups can order free Lemon:Aid kits online which contain posters, pictures, temporary tattoos, balloons, iron-ons, and other promotional material to help them make a stand for clean water. Proceeds from the stands go to Blood:Water's clean water projects in Zambia, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya. For more information on Blood:Water Mission, visit www.bloodwatermission.com.
